Victoria and Armando Nahum of Atlanta, GA established
SAFE CARE CAMPAIGN in 2006 after their son Josh died of his health
care acquired infection.
Since then Victoria has spoken internationally at more than 100
venues and conferences including APIC’s National Infection
Prevention Week event and the release of the SHEA Compendium
at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., HCA’s Annual CEO
Summit, the media event for the opening of the Joint Commission’s
Center for Transforming Healthcare and the Royal College of
Physicians in London, U.K.
She is best known as the the definitive face and dynamic patient
and family voice representing the complex challenge of health care
infections within the health care setting. Through her novel perspective
and remarkably positive presentation to caregivers she aims to help effect better, safer care by stressing the true importance of each caregivers’ role.
The Nahum’s story has been featured on national media including the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, Fox News, CNN as well as The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. SAFE CARE CAMPAIGN was also a content contributor to the 2009 OPRAH segment on MRSA.
